…beginnt die Vorbereitung auf die Reise.
Beim Reifenwechsel bemerke ich, dass die Bremsscheiben erneuert werden müssen, also mache ich einen weiteren Werkstatt Termin, weil die Ersatzteile nicht lagernd sind.
Das Wochenende naht und der kampermannsche Perfektionismus treibt mich ins 560km entfernte Herford um mit meinem Bruder eine Spezialvariante eines Cupholders anzufertigen
Wir planen, schrauben, leimen . . . .
… nachdem ich meinem Bruder sein wohlverdientes Wochenende ruiniert habe und mich gebührend schuldig fühle (aber eben nicht genug, um ihn zu verschonen) – eh voila, ein sehr ansehnliches Ergebnis, frisch vom Fass . . .
und dann im Fahrzeug . . .
Zum perfektionistischen Wahn gehört natürlich auch der Weber Grill – lange denken wir darüber nach, ob wir das brauchen, ob er nicht zu schwer ist. Schließlich wischen wir alle Bedenken weg: könnte ja sein, dass wir bald kein Geld mehr haben und jagen müssen, und wie sollte dann die Zubereitung von statten gehen: Eben!
Schließlich ist der Grill in einer „ruhigen Minute“ zusammengebaut (eigentlich renovieren wir gerade den Dachhimmel, der sich als bröselnder Dreckslappen entpuppt hat).
Voller Besitzerstolz wollen wir ihn an den zuvor festgelegten Platz stellen, aber . . .
passt nicht . . .
Dafür wird der neue Dachhimmel schön, der zum vorschein kommt, nachdem der alte Lappen abgefummelt ist . . .
Das Schlafzimmer ist Dank Catys Schwester zu einem lebenwerten Raum geworden – (vielleicht sollte sich mein Bruder und Catys Schwester in einer Selbsthilfegruppe zusammentun mit dem Thema: wie wehre ich Begehrlichkeiten von Geschwistern ab)
Nachdem die Hardware unseren Wünschen entspricht, nehme ich die Heizug in Betrieb, die aber nicht fuktioniert.
Drei Tage und viele vergebliche Anrufe später (einen Termin bei Truma oder anderen Werkstätten sind ab Juni wieder zu haben) stelle ich fest: ich habe die Heizung gar nicht angestellt, woraus sich nach unvoreingenommener Analyse ergibt, dass sie deshalb nicht warm geworden ist (ich hatte nur den Boiler auf heizen gestellt . . . )
Glücklich, das es nur meine Dummheit war, versuche ich in dem nun aufgewärmten Wohnmobil das Warmwasser aus – allerdings kommt kein Tropfen davon aus dem Hahn.
Ich überlege mir schon, wie es sein wird, am Nordkap die Trauer darüber zu überwinden, dass es eine heiße Dusche nicht geben wird und komme zu dem Schluss, dass warme Wasser muss funktionieren.
Wieder Telefonate, ein Besuch bei einem Caravaning Center, wo uns klar gemacht wird, dass gerne mal Jemand im Juni nachsehen kann. Mit viel Überredungskunst werden wir dann mit der etwas ruppingen Fachfrau vom Center fündig. Sehr versteckt im Südwestteil des Fahrzeuges, befindet sich einVentil für den Boiler, das für den Winter noch geöffnet war, weshalb ich mit dem warmen Wasser während 20 Minuten die Strasse sanft benetzt habe.
Was brauchen wir noch: das schiere Überangebot wirft Fragen auf, zumal wir nach einem Besuch auf der Autowaage wissen, dass uns kaum mehr 170kg für den täglichen Bedarf zur Verfügung stehen.
Toll, da hat man ein geräumiges Mobil und denkt, man bringt sein Wohnzimmer, Küche und Bad auf die Strasse, was ja soweit auch stimmt, mit dem kleinen Zusatz, dass man gefühlt gar nichts mehr mitnehmen darf, um nicht an der schweizer Grenze von den Beamten auseinandergenommen zu werden…
Trotzdem beschliessen wir, Suppe nicht aus der Hand zu schlürfen, uns auch einen Topf zu gönnen, um überhaupt einen Suppenbeutel mit etwas Wasser aufbereiten zu können . . . nur welchen Topf, Tisch, Pfanne, Kloputzmittel, Wassertabs, Werkzeug . . .
mmhhh, darf das alles mit . . .
Endlich ist alles gepackt, alles funktioniert: wir halten den 2. Mai als Abfahrtsdatum fest.
Erst da bemerken wir, dass das bestellte Additiv für unseren Rußfilter, das nur vom Hersteller beziehbar ist, nicht angekommen ist.
Die Nachverfolgung via Tracking Nummer ergibt: das Paket wurde in Großbeeren an den Zusteller übergeben, was durch seine Nähe zu Berlin nur einen Schluss zulässt: das Additiv wurde zur Rechnungadresse nach Berlin geliefert und nicht zur Zustelladresse in Tübingen . . .
Heute ist der 2.Mai und wir sind noch da – bis morgen . . .

Liebe Caty, ich hatte euch schon längst auf der wunderschönen Insel Korsika vermutet und war während des Schneetreibens hier, ziemlich neidisch. Tja so ist da halt beim Weltenbummeln, es kommt immer ander als man denkt, aber das hat ja auch was für sich. Das mit dem Zuladungsgewicht kommt mir bekannt vor, aber unser VW Bus gibt uns da ja aufgrund des mangelnden Platzes bei 4 Personen schon so manche Einschränkung mit auf den Weg. Ich wünsche euch ganz viele, tolle Erlebnisse und Eindrücke und ich werde natürlich euren Reiseblog verfolgen. Vielleicht gibt’s ja auch doch noch Yoga Inspirationen für die lange Durststrecke.
